Over 2 years later & the Switch dock's USB 3.0 port hasn't
WEBHouston, TX. Nov 13, 2018. #1. The USB 3.0 port is listed as "USB Port" in this image. If you recall, the Nintendo Switch's dock has a USB 3.0 port next to the USB Type-C power port & the HDMI port. However, here's the caveat. The USB 3.0 port hasn't been enabled to run at full USB 3.0 speeds. As of now, it only runs at USB 2.0 speeds.
Nintendo UK has discontinued the Nintendo Switch Dock Set.

Which would result in a bigger gap in required GPU performance between the two modes than there is for targeting 1080p docked and 720p in Switch 1 (although obviously many games are sub-1080p/720p on Switch 1).
