Methedrone should not be confused with the similarly named and structured stimulant drug mephedrone (4-methylmethcathinone), or the synthetic opioid methadone .

Jan 3, 2010 · Mephedrone (4-methylmethcathinone, 4-MMC) is a research chemical drug of the beta-ketone family, first reported in Israel during the mid-2000's. It is a substituted cathinone and structurally related to both methcathinone and methamphetamine. It is usually taken orally or insufflated with a typical active oral dose ranging from 100 - 250mg.

Jan 11, 2010 · Methedrone seems to be the source of most confusion (easily mistaken for mephedrone and methylone, as well as people mixing names with methadone). This is why I'd favor bk-PMMA as the primary name for it, but as you say, that is not a search term that people are currently likely to use.
