Boston Celtics legend Bill Russell is set to be immortalized in the city. The North Washington Street Bridge is set to be renamed into the "William Felton "Bill" Russell Bridge." Currently, the bridge is under construction and will connect Charlestown to the West End and North End near TD Garden.

The bridge renaming will honor his dedication to civil rights and the fostering of Boston’s youth and young athletes,” Boston Mayor Michelle Wu’s office says.
