The cult classic movie Ghostbusters turns 40 this year. To celebrate the movie and the Halloween season, Krispy Kreme is offering special doughnuts.

If you take a look outside Thursday, the moon is going to be pretty hard to miss as it will be the November Supermoon, otherwise known as a “Hunter’s Moon.” Krispy Kreme is marking the occasion with a new signature donut called the “Supermoon-Super Doughnut.

Krispy Kreme doughnuts will be available in 1,000 McDonald’s restaurants by the end of 2024 and 12,000 locations by the end of 2026.

When you see a full moon in the dark sky, it's usually a belief that there will be harvest, transformation, or something unfortunate like an accident. But with Krispy Kreme, it's a once-in-a-blue-moon doughnut.

Krispy Kreme announced a brand-new promotion to honor the anticipated arrival of its doughnuts at participating Chicago McDonald’s restaurants starting Tuesday, Oct. 15. This, the brand added, is a little tease for its phased rollout to McDonald’s locations across the nation by the end of 2026.
