Dozens of people have rallied outside the Michigan headquarters of WK Kellogg Co. to demand that the company remove artificial dyes from their cereals in the U.S.

The protests come in the wake of a new California law known as the California School Food Safety Act that bans six potentially harmful dyes in foods served in California public schools. The ban includes all of the dyes in Froot Loops, plus Blue Dye No. 2 and Green Dye No. 3.

Hundreds of protesters gathered in Battle Creek on Tuesday in protest of WK Kellogg’s continued use of dyes and preservatives that are considered harmful.

As dozens of Americans rallied outside Kellogg's headquarters, petitions of over 400,000 signatures were delivered to the company’s offices in Battle Creek.
