Usher was sent to live with Sean 'Diddy' Combs at the tender age of 14, despite the rapper's reputation as "the wildest party guy in the country".The decision came after record producer L.A. Reid signed Usher to his LaFace Records label immediately after witnessing his audition.

When Usher, 45, was just 13 years old, Diddy became his legal guardian, as he produced the singer's self-titled 1994 debut album. Usher has often noted that during his time under Diddy's wing, he was exposed to a lot at a young age.
