Prime Minister Justin Trudeau testified at the public inquiry into foreign interference on Wednesday, shedding new light on what he knew about foreign attempts to meddle in Canadian politics and what led to his explosive claim in the House of Commons that India was behind the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar in June 2023.

Facing a revolt in his own party, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau attacked both the Conservative opposition and India’s government, which he said had made “a horrific mistake” in the killing of a Sikh activist.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Wednesday some members of the official opposition Conservative Party could be involved in foreign interference and alleged the party was not taking the matter seriously.
