The must do site in Istanbul. Yes everything else is spectacular but this place is incredible. So well restored. Just to be able to walk around the vast underground structure was a real privilege. Full review by Amanda7645
I repeatedly see listings that the Basilica Cistern is open at night, but every place I go to look to buy tickets online only has options for entry up to 5:30 pm. Does anyone know how to prepurchase online tickets for a nighttime entry? Thank you.

You have to buy these from the ticket office - online isn’t available like during the day time. They cost 1,300 TL

I do have some skepticism about their inclination to answer in English. I found use of English in Istanbul, hence having a professional guide was a boon.
